We are looking for you!

Our volunteers are amazing people, and we couldn't run our 'little theatre' without them, but we're always looking for someone else and that someone could be you...

If you've  ever wondered what it would be like to be an actor, to feel the adrenaline rush just before you walk out on stage, to hear the laughter of an audience when that funny line is yours, to hear a pin drop during an intense or emotional scene, and to hear the applause that comes at the conclusion of a performance. If you've ever wondered, then we are looking for you!

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to work behind the scenes, to help construct a set, or maybe paint a backdrop, to sew a costume, or go rummaging for props at a local thrift store. If you've ever wondered, then we are looking for you.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work in the technical booth and run the sound? To push a button at precisely the right moment so that the car arriving, the phone ringing, the dog barking outside, all sounds very real, and  adds reality to a production. If you've ever wondered, then we are looking for you.

Maybe you've wondered what it would be like to design a lighting plot, or program a lighting board. To sit in the technical booth and know that the subtle lighting change  taking place on stage is happening because of you. If you've ever wondered, then we are looking for you.

Have you ever wondered what it would be like to work back stage? To be one of those mysterious people dressed in black one sees through the gloom of a set change. To be responsible for making sure the exact props are ready and in place for the actors before they go out on stage.  To be part of the backstage excitement on opening night. If you've ever wondered, then we are looking for you.

If you've ever wondered what it would be like to work 'Front of House.' To greet our patrons with a friendly smile,  hand them a program, take them to their table, maybe help in the kitchen on dinner theatre nights. If you've ever wondered, then we are looking for you.

At some time you may have wondered about volunteering but the 'theatre is not your thing'. Well, we need help in so many other area's too. There's book keeping, program layout, marketing and publicity. The interior of the building is in need of a face lift, and the grounds are in desperate need of some tender loving care. If you've ever wondered, then we are looking for you.

If you've ever wondered what we can do for you, then here are a few of the perks!
Cast and crew members of each production are given complementary tickets for family or friends, they partake of a great opening night buffet, and are treated to a cast party on closing night.
Front of House volunteers see the show for free and if it's dinner theatre night, you also enjoy one of our delicious buffet dinners.
During the summer we host a fun-for-all  barbeque, and when our summer production opens in July, this year it's a Musical Melodrama called 'Dirty Deeds at Diamond Crossing' we invite all of our volunteers to a 'two 4 one' luncheon.

If the wondering is finally over why not call or email us right now and find out for yourselves just how much fun you can have being a volunteer at Lady Smith's Little Theare!
